Oil on Masonite

Both of these were painted in 1996, when I was living in Tallahassee, Florida, in the smallest apartment you could imagine.  Really, I could basically open my arms and almost touch opposite walls at the same time.  It was an apartment in the back of a house, and that house shared property with another house.

A gecko lived in the woods outside this apartment and would make the best little sound: “Gek-o.  Gek-o.”  I loved it.
