PDC07 Website and Print Comps

Creating the visual design and tone for the PDC07 was a daunting task. The conference is a huge event for Microsoft, attracting thousands of voracious “fan-boys” every year — and it hadn’t been held in a few years, to the fans were extra, extra hungry.

The below is a quick look at the initial exploration using trees — and specifically the junction of the limb of the tree to the trunk — as a metaphor of Microsoft providing the foundation (trunk) for developers to “branch off” and develop on their own.

Unfortunately, PDC07 was cancelled two days into my initial visual explorations, so I didn’t get far <shrug />
