The MIX09 team had the opportunity to invite 200 students from design programs in various colleges around the country.
Eight design students from the University of Cincinnati’s internationally ranked School of Design, part of the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP), obtained a rare, first-hand look at potential innovations that could radically change the way we interact with electronics, computers and the Internet during a recent national conference sponsored by Microsoft Corporation in Las Vegas, Nev.
The students were enthusiastic, engaged, and, well, at the TAO party a couple of ‘em were a little tipsy
One quote that I really liked came from Emily Taylor, a graphic Design senior at University of Cincinnati:
Said Taylor, "As a graphic designer going to the MIX conference, I looked at this as my introduction to Web design. Design is cross disciplinary, and that was in evidence at the conference."
I thought this was a great article and provided a great summary and new perspective on the MIX conference.
