Here’s a track I created with some friends of mine back around 2000 while living at the Brooklynhaus with Johnny Mayday. This was the house with the kinda-creepy-but-ultimately-cool secret room in the back of the house. There was a room at this place that you could only get to through either John’s room or the [...]
I was able to get to see my friends Johnny Mayday, (aka) John Coyle, and Zfunk (aka Zache Davis.) John and I went out to dinner in “Little Ethiopia,” his neighborhood in Los Angeles. I had a fantastic time with them and miss them both.

I took the original video of Mayday on New Year’s eve, 2000/2001. I used a Canon GL1, and captured a still from the miniDV. Watch the video, which includes the original music track “Earlier …“ At the moment this still was grabbed, Mayday was yelling at our friend, Tim Tompt, about how “nobody bit his [...]

Shocking Imagery (w/ Johnny Mayday) – Systim

48 in x 24 in Oil on Masonite This was painted for Johnny Mayday after he and I drove out to Seattle for the first time when he first moved to Seattle from Tampa. On the drive, we passed through Oklahoma, and all of the brownness of Oklahoma. There were, though, pretty little flowers growing [...]
There are few stars brighter than those of highway miles and even fewer silverhaired memories of night that can shine beside Oregon, California, Arizona and her wooden teepees who are unwelcoming in the still of a night filled only with snow of high plains and exhaust fumes which fill the moon with only a longing [...]
